Bertini

Vaudeville artiste (vocals & violin), songwriter. Probably British born as he served in the Royal Flying Corps during WWI, and began entertaining troops at that time. Worked on stage in Australia with Tivoli & Fullers 1922-1925. Teamed up with Jack Lumsdaine as a duo act on the Tivoli circuit 1926-1927. Had own band, Bertini's Stars Of Syncopation on Fuller circuit in 1928. Formed another duo act in 1929 with Ernest Powell, then worked as a trio in 1930 with John Priora & Len Maurice in an act known as The Celebrity Three. Was on stage at the Regent Hotel in 1931. Continued with Tivoli shows as a solo act into the 1940s billed as Bertini The Great. Wrote music for at least three popular songs in 1927: Dreamland Voices, My Pal Is My Mother & Jacaranda
