Born 橋詰宣明 (Yoshiaki Hashizume),June 6, 1951, Asahikawa, Hokkaido, Japan. Mooney is a Japanese swing jazz, jug band, blues musician playing guitar, banjo and washboard. He has been active since the 1970s with various bands and units such as Uncle Mooney, The Conx, Mooney-Go-Around, Chain The Three Gang, Shy & Mooney, MAD-WORDS, Mooney＆his Lucky Rhythm. The founder and organizer of the Yokohama Jug Band Festival which has been held since early 2000s.
