Nico Roxe

Nico Roxe is a Sound Creator and Visual Artist from Colombia based between Berlin and NYC. They empirically learned music through punk and hardcore in their early years, playing in multiple local bands in Bogotá like ResistEnciA, Justicia Natural, Opozicion, Huitzilopochtli, and Isachishacta. From that, they opened to discovering Ska, Reggae, and fusion sounds with the band Sistema Sonoro Skartel; they later got into electronic music, playing as Dj RU.IN. and starting to produce music digitally. NR moved to the US after a German tour with their band Sistema Sonoro Skartel in 2005. in NYC, NR started playing guitar with the Latino-migrapunk band Huasipungo. In 2007 NR started a harsh-noise and experimental music solo project named Noise Krov. Later in 2009 created an analog synthesizer band called Rosa Apátrida. Around 2013 NR began singing and playing bass in a band punk called Agonia. In late 2010, NR started experimenting with synthesizers and visualizations to create generative artworks, gifs, video loops, and video art pieces. In 2017, NR began playing synthesizer Ambient and Drone music while interacting with live visuals under their name, collaborating in art performances in museums and art institutions worldwide with the artist Elektra KB. Together they started a Darkwave band called Cíborg Commune that occasionally performs between Berlin, NYC, and Bogotá.
