Poogy
Настоящее имя: Poogy
Об исполнителе:
The name Poogy was originally a nickname for drummer Meir Fenigstein. It was also the name of the lead character in Danny Sanderson's rock opera Poogy Tales and in the stories and songs of Kaveret's first album which was also called Poogy Tales. In 1974 Kaveret represented Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest and a decision was taken to market the band internationally under the name Poogy. In Israel Kaveret is probably the single most successful rock band of all time, drawing comparisons to The Beatles in the West. Despite rerecording several songs in English and recording new English songs as well the band never achieved any real success outside of Israel and could not land an American recording contract despite touring the United States in 1976. Notes for submitting on Discogs: Some releases will have both the Hebrew name כוורת (enter as an ANV of Kaveret) and Poogy. Please enter both as separate artists and use = as a separator. If Poogy appears alone then just use that name for the artist.
