The Loose Ends was a Ft Worth, Texas group created in 1965. It was made up of Jon T. Bone (T-Bone Burnett) and David Graves who had played together in a high school group The Shadows. The Loose Ends' first recording effort was in 1965. "I'll Go"/"So Much Love" never made it past the acetate stage although it was later recorded by another Ft. Worth group, The Cynics, and appears on a volume of the Norton Record "Fort Worth Teen Scene" series. The next 1965 recording session produced "Free Soul/He's A Nobody" released on Decade, an independent label. It met with some radio air play and modest local success. Don McGilvray had joined the group for this recording. in 1966, group group embarked on "Dead End Kid/Verses" which represented a more involved production effort. Bell Records released this title in the summer of 1966. Bell also re-released "Free Soul/He's A Nobody" on its Mala label. A following title "A Street In Paris" was recorded but met with little attention from the label. Burnett decided on a fresh start and Whistler, Chaucer, Detroit & Greenhill evolved from the remnants of the Loose Ends.
