Linus Reichlin (* June 9, 1957 in Aarau) is a Swiss writer and columnist. Reichlin began writing reportages and essays in 1985. From 1997 he became known to a larger audience through his literary-satirical columns, especially with Moskito in Weltwoche (from 1998 to 2002). He has been working as a freelance writer since 2007; he has since published several novels. His series about the retired Belgian ex-policeman Hannes Jensen - similar to the southern crime novels of a Friedrich Ani - revolves more around psychology than bloodshed and, moreover, does without professional investigators. Both Die Sehnsucht der Atome and Der Assistent der Sterne were on the KrimiWelt bestseller list for months. The 2009 German Crime Fiction Prize generated widespread reader interest. In 2011, Reichlin was among the competitors for the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize, but he did not win a prize there. His novel Das Leuchten in der Ferne (2012) takes war reporter Moritz Martens to Afghanistan in personal borderline experiences. Linus Reichlin lives in Berlin.
