Black President

Hardcore punk supergroup formed in 2005 by guitarists Greg Hetson (Circle Jerks, Bad Religion) and Charlie Paulson (Goldfinger (7)), bassist Jason Christopher, drummer Roy Mayorga (Nausea (2), Soulfly, Stone Sour), and singer Christian Martucci (The Strychnine Babies). Due to touring commitments with Stone Sour, Mayorga was replaced by Wade Youman (Unwritten Law) and then by Ty Smith (Guttermouth, Bullets And Octane), but returned in time to record the band's self-titled 2008 debut album. Hetson had left the band by the time of the album's recording, but was credited as co-writer on three of its twelve songs (Paulson wrote the bulk of the material). With Hetson's departure, Martucci became the group's rhythm guitarist in addition to singing. Christopher also left temporarily, and Pat Kim (Unwritten Law) filled the bass position until his return, performing on two of the album's tracks. Mayorga left the group after the album's release and was replaced by Dave Raun (Lagwagon, Me First & The Gimme Gimmes).
