Jennikel Andersson

Swedish fiddler, concertina player and xylophonist of Swiss-Swedish and Danish descent, born on February 23, 1976 in Denmark. Andersson moved to Sweden with her parents as a little baby and they settled down in Delsbo, Hälsingland where she was raised and played fiddle for 'Riksspelmännen' (often translated as the Musicians of the Realm or the National Folk Musicians) Thuva Härdelin and [a5560519] and accompanied her mother who danced folk dances at the many folk music festivals in the area. Andersson has studied folk music in Ireland and holds a Master of Arts in Irish Traditional Music Performance from the University of Limerick. Since 2021, Andersson is the course coordinator for the course Irish Folk Music at Väddö Folk High School in Norrtälje, Uppland.
