Edward Boyd (3)

Edward "Eddie" Boyd (b. May 11, 1916 in Stevenston, North Ayrshire, Scotland; † December 17, 1989 in Glasgow) was a Scottish crime writer and screenwriter for films, television series and radio plays. He wrote many series for BBC Scotland and Granada Television, as well as numerous radio plays for radio. In 1967, Boyd received the Writers' Guild of Great Britain (WGGB) award for Best Original Screenplay, along with Peter Yates and George Markstein, for the film Millionaire Robbery. In 1971, he was also honored by the WGGB with the award for Best British Radio Features Script. Badgers in Owllight or The Quest of Peter Talion is one of Boyd's best known radio plays. It is a three-part play produced by Südwestfunk (German broadcast).
