The Penn Sembles

Organized in December, 1969, after a group of adults expressed a desire to learn to play the tamburitza. Met and rehearsed every Monday evening at the Croatian Club in Trafford, PA. Made a number of appearances throughout Pennsylvania and Ohio, at picnics and other affairs sponsored by Croatian Fraternal Union Lodges, United Lodges, Junior Tamburitza Groups, and various clubs and organizations. Their rendition of "Tesko Mi Je Sto Se Rastajemo" is played as the closing theme song of the Voice Of The CFU in Western Penna., a radio program heard every Sunday morning on WPSL in Monroeville, PA. Group ranges in age from 19 to 68, are of Croatian and Serbian descent.
