Joe Springer

American jazz pianist, born 22 May 1916 in New York City, USA. Played with Wingy Manone in 1935, making his recording début with Louis Prima in 1940. Then joined Buddy Rich and recorded with Gene Krupa 1942-1943. Thereafter worked with Ben Webster, Charlie Barnet and others. In the mid-1940s a regular accompanist for Billie Holiday. During the 1960s worked freelance in New York before moving to Florida.
