Manuel Ruiz Arquelladas

Spanish composer, pianist and composer (Cúllar Vega, Granada, 1892 - Madrid, February 5, 1984), was the son of parents who were musicians and brother of Fernando Ruiz Arquelladas. At the beginning of the 20th century he moved to Madrid where he completed his musical training and worked as an orchestra conductor and composer of zarzuelas and cuplés. A good part of his compositions were written with his brother Fernando and the composer Cayo Vela Marqueta, also from Granada. His cuplés were first performed and sung by famous artists such as Raquel Meller. Among his most famous songs are "Soy caprichosa", "La embajadora" or "Romance de Joselito".
