Australian indie / roots singer-songwriter, based in Melbourne and Healesville, Victoria. Robbie Greig is a gifted singer-songwriter who cut his musical teeth in the Melbourne coffee house scene in the '70s. He is able to mine a deep vein of musical influences and life experiences to deliver finely-crafted songs with immediate appeal. Drawing on 11 acclaimed studio albums, Robbie’s trademark riff-driven grooves, strong melodies and engaging lyrics take the audience on a journey incorporating rock, blues, jazz and troubadour-folk elements, referencing the great songwriters of the ‘70s and 80’s. His latest album, Thunder From a Clear Sky, was released through Skulduggery Records in 2023. Robbie has received various industry awards for his work, among them the Australia Council, the Australian Songwriters’ Association and 3RRR. His songs have been featured on ABC radio (local and national) and many FM stations. His song ‘Al Saunders’ Garage’ has been covered by Enda Kenny and become a folk circuit classic. Robbie has been described as the ‘troubadour with a groove’ by the Melbourne Times, and as ‘the Bob Dylan of the Melbourne Hills’ by 3RRR presenter Rick E Vengeance.
