Kenny Smith Aboriginal guitarists. A touring member of Warumpi Band in the early eighties, Kenny became known as "The Terminator" due to his love of gaudy reflector sunglasses. He later joined Aboriginal blues,rock band Sunrize, a group musicians from Maningrida (about 486 kms east of Darwin), Northern Territory, Australia. The Band’s name comes from the Aboriginal Dreamtime legend which sees the two women creators emerging from where the sun rises, where they made the rivers, the creeks, the people’s traditional names, ancestral beings and Aboriginal totems. The Sunrize Band made it big in the 90s, but cut short their success when, unfortunately Kenny passed aways in 1996. The group disbanded for cultural reasons following Kennys passing. The band did reform more than 10 years later, when they were asked to perform at the 2012 National Indigenous Music Awards.
