Swedish composer and guitarist, born April 15, 1969 in Östersund. His work has been performed by, among others, the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Pearls for Pigs, Musica Vitae and Kroumata. Josjö grew up in Uppsala but began his music studies in Stockholm at Södra Latins gymnasium as a classical guitarist for Bo Hansson. He then went on to the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm where, however, he decided to switch to composition. At KMH he studied for, among others, Pär Lindgren, Bent Sørensen, Lars Ekström, Lars-Erik Rosell and William Brunson. Josjö mainly writes orchestral and chamber music, but he has also composed for film and puppet theater. Among his more acclaimed orchestral works is the guitar concerto "Trajectory" which was premiered by the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra in 2002. One of his acclaimed chamber music works is "Tangtram" which received a very good review in DN. Josjö has received a number of scholarships from e.g. VOTE He was elected to the Swedish Composers' Association in 2002. As a guitarist, Josjö has performed in several constellations in both art and pop music. He has been an electric guitarist in the rock band Edson and also has a hobby project called "The Lola's Trio" where in addition to his guitar playing he sings and writes music. In 1995, Josjö premiered the virtuoso solo guitar piece "Lowland" by Christ Johnsson Prize winner Jesper Nordin. At the Volt Festival 2010, he played in a guitar trio with Mårten Falk and Patrik Karlsson. The music they played was techno classics arranged by Josjö for three classical guitars. Today, Josjö is active as a composer and also teaches at Eriksdalsskolan in Stockholm.
