Настоящее имя: Gustav Mahler Quartett
Об исполнителе:
Das Gustav-Mahler Quartett Since its formation in 1990, this quartet succeeds the tradition of the Vienna Classical School, while it also performs pieces by "Slavic" composers, such as Dvořák and Smetana. It also actively introduces music by contemporary Austrian composers. All the four young members of this quartet have been studying with members of Die Wiener Philharmoniker, and three of them are already themselves the members of the orchestra. The leader, Bernhard Biberauer (the first violin), is also the concertmaster of Die Wiener Sinfonietta. Peter Sagaischek (viola) is a solo violist in Das Orchester Der Wiener Volksoper, which is another major orchestra in Vienna. The quartet aims at capturing the sounds of Die Wiener Philharmoniker, which fascinates fans of classical music around the world, in their chamber music. They have performed several times in Japan with great success. Since 1994, they have been eagerly collaborating with solo windplayers, including bassoonist Ohta Shigeru and flutist Ohta Yoshiko, who have studied in Vienna and recognized highly in Europe as well as in Japan. Audiences have been greatly praising their warm sounds and excellent ensemble playing.
