Herb Sadler

Granite City, US is the birthplace of Sadler’s music career. He began playing guitar at age 11 or 12, around town, influenced by Metro East’s Bob Hastings, who became a great country star, Curly Nelson, Granite City band 50/50 and Skeets Yaney, a national yodeling champion who recorded with MGM Records. He left Granite City in 1961, his senior year, with R&B artists Ike and Tina Turner, staying connected with the couple until 1972. Thus, he musically came of age starting around that time, prior to 1965, to when he began playing with the Ike & Tina Turner Revue, active through late 1971.
