Royce Ferguson

Barbershop tenor vocalist and choral director. Born on August 12, 1967 in San Diego, California, Royce is an acclaimed quartet vocalist, choral music director, educator and clinician. As a 35 year member of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS), Royce has won an International quartet gold medal singing tenor with Revival (1998) and directed the Westminster Chorus to International silver and gold medals (2006 – 2007). Since that time, he has continued to actively mentor this wonderful men’s vocal ensemble – including their 2019 journey to chorus gold in Salt Lake City, Utah. Royce is a highly sought after vocal clinician and directing coach, and has lead numerous choral education events across the USA and Europe. Royce holds music degrees with honors from Southwestern College and studied Jazz Performance and Advanced Choral Conducting at San Diego State University. At SDSU, he also founded popular a cappella ensemble Royce’s Voices. In the Barbershop Harmony Society, Royce has served as the Far Western District chairperson for Chorus Director Development and is a certified trainer for the Chorus Director Workshop Intensive (CDWI) program. He has also taught advanced courses in vocal pedagogy and choral directing at Harmony University. Royce’s specialized expertise in music and technology has also lead to notable career efforts in recording studio audio production (StudioWest), multimedia quality assurance engineering (Apple, Inc), IT and marketing.
