American country music singer, songwriter, and guitarist Born: 28 July 1954 in Deer Park (Houston), Texas, USA Died: 24 March 2022. He began playing guitar professionally at the age of 13, first for Gene Watson, then later for Leon Frenchie Bourque. During his tour years with Watson, he mastered the pedal steel, banjo, fiddle and harmonica. He next worked as a session musician, and soon got a recording contract of his own. He charted six times as a singer between 1975 and 1978 on the U.S. country charts, including once with his own co-written song. His top charter was also his first, "Sometimes I Talk in My Sleep" reached #9 in 1975. "Ring Telephone Ring", which he co-wrote with David Lynn Jones, hit #95 in 1978.
