Eddy van der Meer

Dutch guitarist and singer. In September 1966 he formed band Slack Gang in Breda, playing blues, inspired by John Lee Hooker, Howling Wolf, etc. Changed to playing free blues, long tracks, influenced by Captain Beefheart. Later Slack Gang moved more into the pop-direction and he left the band establishing the new free music project Surprieze, featuring a mixture ofTurkish music, blues, free-jazz and electronic sounds.
