Bargemusic

Bargemusic is an American chamber music venue established in 1976 and located on the floating barge parked at the foot the Brooklyn Bridge in East River Ferry, New York. The project was created by Olga Bloom, née Bayrack (1919—2011), a US violinist and violist who retired from her stage career at fifty-seven and purchased a late XIX-century 100-foot steel barge from the New York Harbor to start a unique "floating concert hall." Since 2005, violinist Mark Peskanov has served as Bargemusic's president and artistic director.
