Josie Katz (born August 14, 1940 in Pittsburgh, PA) is an American-Israeli singer, actress and dancer. She went to Israel to volunteer on a kibbutz in 1959 and decided to stay. She moved to Tel Aviv and worked as a dancer in theater. In 1964 she met Shmulik Kraus whom she would later marry and launched a singing career. In 1966 Katz, Kraus and Arik Einstein formed The High Windows. Their only album, released in 1967, made her a star in Israel. In 1968, after a tour of Europe, Einstein decided to return to Israel and the group broke up. Katz and Kraus worked in Europe and the United States before returning to Israel in 1970. Katz appeared in Arik Einstein and Shalom Hanoch's film Shablool (1970) and in their TV variety specials as part of Lool. She continued to perform and record with Kraus and with a variety of groups through the 1970s. Her marriage collapsed by 1982 and she returned to the U.S., settling in New York. After the death of her second husband she returned to Israel and restarted her singing career in 1997. Her life story was made into the film "All Is Well By Me" (Hebrew: אצלי הכל בסדר) which was released in 2005.
