Hungarian violinist, born in Budapest. Was made a prisoner of war in Java, Indonesia in 1940, where he carved the music to the song "Silhouette" in wood due to a lack of paper in the internment camp. Kunstler had engagements in the famous Parisienne Grill in Budapest, St. Moritz, Zurich and other major cities. After World War II he led the famous Raffles Hotel Orchestra in Singapore. Later on he moved to England and adopted the British nationality. He led his own orchestra at notable night spots in the West End including Quaglino's Restaurant. During that time he released his 10" album "Play Gypsy".
