Barbershop bass vocalist. Second bass of the 1949 SPEBSQSA International Champions, the Mid-States 4. Joined them in 1982 to replace original bass, Art Gracey, who had died in 1979. Sang with them until Bob Mack’s death in 1988. Continued to sing with Marty Mendro and Forry Haynes after Bob’s death in the Mid-Staters Quartet with Forry’s daughter on tenor. Phil also ran the “Sing With The Champs” program at SPEBSQSA International for several years. Born in 1935 and died in 2012.
