Bill Cockrell (2)

Barbershop bass vocalist. Born on December 10, 1917. Bill made his first big accomplishment in barbershop in 1954 with the West Coasters when they won the 1954 Far Western District Championship. They went on to place as high as 2nd in the SPEBSQSA International Quartet Contest. In 1960, Bill joined the Gala Lads and they won the Far Western District Championship that same year. Bill won his gold medal with the Gala Lads in 1962 in Kansas City, MO. He continued to perform with the Gala Lads off and on for nearly 40 more year’s performing his final show with them in September of 2000. Bill died on January 25, 2009 at the age of 91.
