Computer programmer and specialist in sound restoration who owned his own reissue label, The Old Masters (born January 30, 1934 in Detroit, MI – died May 7, 2003 in San Mateo, CA) In his first career, Morrow was a mathematician and computer programmer whose company, Morrow Designs, developed some of the first personal computers. After the rise of large computer companies like IBM forced Morrow Designs into bankruptcy in 1986, Morrow shifted his focus to his hobby, dance music of the 1920s and 1930s. He owned about 70,000 shellac records. Morrow developed a method of improving the quality of digital transfers of recordings and reducing background noise, founded a sound restoration company, Echo Productions, CA., and a compact disc label, The Old Masters, on which he reissued some of the shellac discs from his collection.
