American songwriter and cook based in Ventura, California Bunge mostly wrote religious songs, but as an attempt gather $3,000 to the Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura, where she worked as a part-time cook, she had four rock 'n' roll songs recorded by Crown Music Co. in New York in 1964, hoping one of them would become a hit. The songs were "How to Fall Out of Love" and "Campus Gal", sung by Ben Tate, and "Afraid of Love" and "Empty Words", sung by May Redding.
