Banana Split was a Brazilian female group formed in 1989 in the city of São Paulo, originally by Adriana Colin, Rosane Muniz, Mel Nunez and Andreia Reis, focusing on the Pop Music market. In 1990 the group signed with the production company Promoart, from Gugu Liberato, and with the record label Continental (3), becoming nationally known. In the same year, with Andreia leaving after her wedding, Eliana (3), who took her place, would later be known as a presenter. In 1993 the members decided to follow different paths, selling the name "Banana Split" to Gugu Liberato, who started to change members constantly, also going through other musical genres such as Dance, Pop and Axé until reaching the end in 2004. In 2013 the group returned with other members, betting on the Sertanejo Universitário and on an explicitly sensual image, moving away from the original proposal of the group two decades before Original Source: Wikipedia.
