American songwriter. She charted as a songwriter three times in the U.S. between 1957 and 1965: "Queen of the Senior Prom" by The Mills Brothers (co-written by Ed Penney & Jack Richards), hit #39 in 1957; "Lean Jean" by Bill Haley & His Comets (co-written by Johnny Grande, Ralph Jones & Rudy Pompilli) hit #67 in 1958; and Vaughn Monroe's version of "Queen of the Senior Prom" hit #132 in 1965. "Uska Dara" (Uska Dora) is also a popular song she wrote that has been covered by many, especially female singers including Eydie Gorme and Eartha Kitt.
