Oreste Carlini

Oreste Carlini ( San Casciano in Val di Pesa , 1827 - Livorno , 12 October 1902 ) was an Italian composer and conductor . Oreste Carlini was an appreciated band director and composer . He wrote a remarkable number of ballads, military marches, a hymn to Guido Monaco . His most famous work of his is the fantasy for the band La Mezzanotte . He also wrote plays such as Nozze Sospirate and Ildegonda . He lived in Livorno , in via Maggi, where a plaque was placed in 1906. The operetta L'importuno vince l'avaro is staged in 1873 at the Teatro Alfieri (Florence) . His last work was the operetta I Diavoli della Corte, with libretto by Gaetano Tani. The groups Banda di San Casciano in Val di Pesa and Gruppo Bandistico del Litorale Pisano "Oreste Carlini" are named after him: band formation on the coast between Marina di Pisa and Livorno.
