American vocalist who appeared on hundreds of recordings from the 1920's into the 1940's, sometimes using a pseudonym. Born on May 12, 1901 in New Brunswick, NJ. Died on November 30, 1987 in Riverside, CA. In early 1925 Scrappy and Billy Hillpot teamed to do a comedy routine of two Smith Brothers “Trade” and “Mark” (company who made first cough drops in US). From 1926 until 1928, he was in the "ben bernie Orchestra".
