Miao (2)

This artist does not refer to a specific group of named individuals (such as a band or musical group) but rather defines the collective term for an ethnic group of linguistically-related peoples living in Southern China and Southeast Asia. The Miao primarily live in the mountainous regions of Southern China in Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangxi, Guangdong, and Hainan provinces. Some also live in Myanmar, Northern Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. They have historical and cultural connections to the Hmong.
