Swedish soprano vocalist, born December 5, 1970. She has got her roots in Kronoby and Terjärv but has lived and worked in Stockholm for almost 10 years. She received her music education at Sibelius Academy and Stockholm Opera Studio and is active as a concert and opera singer in both Finland and Sweden. She often collaborates with the pianist and composer Stefan Lindgren (3) and the couple have together produced newly written chamber opera, several solo songs and orchestral works. She likes to highlight unknown composers and unusual works both in her concert activities and on record. Her record production consists of the records ”Bortom fjärdens våg”, ”Våg, våg, slå åter” and ”Rosling, missne och tuvdun” with Stefan Lindgren as pianist where the repertoire consisted of Swedish songs by Armas Järnefelt, Selim Palmgren, Erkki Melartin, Oskar Merikanto and Erik Fordell. Christin also participates as a soprano soloist on Lindgren's record with orchestral works together with Helsingborg's Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Andrew Manze which was released in 2015. In 2014/2015, Christin Högnabba received the Swedish Cultural Foundation's work scholarship for musical activities and she received a renewed work scholarship in 2016. Most recently she was featured as Musetta in Puccini's La Boheme at Vaasa Opera and in April 2016 she sang the title role in the premiere of Stefan Lindgren's chamber opera ”Hon som fick veta”, which was also performed during Nykarlebyveckan 2016 and during guest performances in Helsinki in the autumn of 2017.
