He is the author of the lyrics of the Chilean national anthem Not to be confused with his nephew Samuel Lillo who wrote the lyrics of "Himno de la Escuela Militar " the Anthem of the Military School of Chile. (Santiago, Chile. August 14, 1826 - July 8, 1910)
