Clive Tshabalala otherwise known as Dj C-live was born in Durban, on the Northern coast of South Africa, in May of 1981. After moving to Johannesburg in 1991, C-Live matriculated at Athlone Boys High School on the east side of Johannesburg in 1999. Being a B-Boy at the time he would play music for the dance sessions before the resident deejays arrived at the Saturday matinee sessions at 'Le Club' downtown Johannesburg in '98, opening for the likes of DJ Blaze and DJ Bionic. C-Live has since went on to establish Johannesburg's first B-boy group; Static B-boys (They can be seen on a television show called Big-Yo on Saturdays on S.A.B.C 1), although C-live has since left the dance group to concentrate on his music. In 2003 Dj C-live was the resident deejay on Gautengs biggest youth station, Yfm 99.2 on a show now called "The Joint Remix" with A.K and Lee Kasumba weekdays 6-9pm. C-Live hosted his own 30 minute slot from 7-7:30pm Monday to Friday, sponsored by FUBU. Since 2005, he spins the TOP 9@9 Hiphop Charts, Thursdays at 9pm on Yfm 99.2FM. Winning the 'Best DJ' Award at the 2006 Hype Awards, he is also the first DJ in South Africa to get endorsed by Ranes’ Serato ScratchLive.
