Hailing from Adelaide, South Australia, Testeagles formed in the southern suburbs circa 1994 and at the time was made up by Matthew "Matty" Matt on guitar and vocals, his brother, Adrian "Ady" Matt on drums and Dean "Deano" on bass. In 1999 Dean was replaced by Dave "D" Paisawa. They have a handful of releases to their name, the first (not counting their early demo tape) being the "Chum" EP released in 1995, which was followed by the "B-Sting" and "Friends" EPs in 1998. In 1999 the group released the singles "Turn That Shit Up" and "Underdog" from their forthcoming album, "Non-Comprehendus". Thier debut album "Non-Comprehendus" was released in 2000, which along with the singles, gained them national airplay on Triple J. A third single, "Like No Other", was released in 2000. The band were regulars on The Big Day Out festivals, their final BDO appearance was in Adelaide in 2005, and their last live appearance was in 2008 supporting Mammal in Melbourne. The band parted with Sony and Krell, which marked the end of any further official releases. For the following few years the band continued to play live shows showcasing their back catelogue while also allowing them to present some new tracks. The track Hypnotisin appeared online in demo form and kept fans hopeful of more to come although the 2008 show remains to be their last.
