Об исполнителе:
Folk Orchestra of the Hungarian Radio And Television (Magyar Rádió És Televízió = MRT or MRTV). For the Dance Orchestra, please use Magyar Rádió És Televízió Tánczenekara. For the Variety Orchestra, please use Magyar Rádió És Televízió Esztrádzenekara. For the Symphonic Orchestra, please use Magyar Rádió És Televízió Szimfónikus Zenekara. In 1950 Hungarian Radio formed its own gypsy orchestra. The 15 members were selected by the director of music, Zsigmond Rácz, and applications were invited for the post of conductor. The job was won by Sándor Lakatos, then 25 years old, and he conducted the orchestra until 1955, when it disbanded. The Radio Gypsy Orchestra presented a number of works which had never been performed before in arrangements for gypsy orchestra. Their playing was marked principally by an effort towards stylistic unity. Their success was exemplified by the folk-music grand prix of the Charles Cross Academy of Paris, which the orchestra won in 1952, against 51 other competitors. Sándor Lakatos, a Master of Folk Art, was also awarded the Liszt Prize for his artistic accomplishments.
