Arndt "Agi" Huppertsberg (1940-1999) was a German jazz pianist, brother of reed player Guy Huppertsberg, and married to "Lady Bass" Bassist Lindy Huppertsberg, Agi Huppertsberg, born as Arndt "Agi" Huppertsberg in 1940 in Wuppertal, Germany, was a renowned jazz pianist known for his contributions to traditional jazz. His career began in his hometown, where he initially honed his musical skills, primarily as a pianist and drummer. In 1977, he made a pivotal move by joining the esteemed Frankfurt-based Barrelhouse Jazzband, an ensemble that would define his musical journey. As the pianist for the Barrelhouse Jazzband, Agi Huppertsberg became known for his captivating performances characterized by infectious energy. His piano artistry added depth and passion to the ensemble's music, captivating audiences worldwide. Beyond his role with the Barrelhouse Jazzband, Huppertsberg demonstrated his versatility through collaborations with other respected musicians and ensembles.
