MZA is a mixed Japanese and Singaporean DJ/producer. Strongly influenced by a mix of hip hop, electronic and jazz music - namely the holy trinity of Gang Starr, Massive Attack and John Coltrane. His music seeks to explore and sample sounds found from deep dusty grooves. With a strong emphasis on smooth, soulful beats and samples defined by one word ‘Jazzmatazz’. Since 2017 he has been performing as a DJ, playing a combination of 90s hip hop, R&B, funk & soul music. He begin producing electronic music in 2019. He runs his own electronic music label Yen Disco Soundsystem on which he continues to produce music of diverse genres. Often embracing his Japanese and Southeast Asian roots through instrumentation and melodies. While slowly expanding his scope to include remixes, mixing and mastering projects as well.
