French-Swedish singer and musician, (stage name Glenn and pseudonym as a songwriter Rudi Revers), born March 4, 1928 in Germany, died July 13, 2008 in Munkfors parish, Värmland county. Toepfer was originally a journalist and in 1959 came from Algiers to Sweden, where he initially worked as a foreign correspondent. He debuted as a troubadour at the old Café de Paris in Gothenburg and then moved to Stockholm, where for a few years he performed at the Peter Mynde pub and where he became acquainted with, among others, Gösta Cervin and Fred Åkerström. In 1964, together with Roger Lundin and Bertil Ramsin, he formed the group Happy go Luckies, a hootennany group that made several disc recordings. This group disbanded after a few years and Toepfer returned to performing solo as a troubadour, including at Långedrag's restaurant in Gothenburg. During a performance at Ambassadeur in Stockholm, he met Sigrun Krüger and came to start a collaboration with her. She left her employment at Dagens Nyheter and they both formed the singing duo Glenn & Gloria in 1970. They appeared in Hylands hörna and recorded the music album Svart på vitt (1971, Telefunken SLE 14601), after which a number of performances in public parks and restaurants followed.
