Italian Prog Rock keyboardist, as well as conductor and composer (August 23, 1952, Genoa, Italy). He studied piano and composition at the Niccolò Paganini Conservatory in Genoa. He joined the New Trolls in 1971 featuring in the albums "Searching For A Land" and "UT", both of 1972. In 1973 following the New Trolls breaking in two parts, Salvi with Nico Di Palo, Frank Laugelli and Gianni Belleno released the album "Canti D'Innocenza Canti D'Esperienza" then becoming a member of the band Ibis, but only in the LP "Sun Supreme". After these experiences, Maurizio Salvi abandoned his activity as a rock musician to devote himself once again and exclusively to his career as a classical musician. On the threshold of 2000, together with Vittorio De Scalzi, and with a formation called "Vittorio De Scalzi - La Storia dei New Trolls", he resumed his activity as a rock musician, this time combining it with that of conductor. In 2011 Salvi and Belleno formed Ut New Trolls.
