Roger Wood (9)

Music historian and professor at Houston Community College from 1981 to 2014. A Ph.D. graduate of the University of Houston, Wood is an expert on African American traditions in blues, jazz, zydeco, and gospel music in Texas, particularly Houston. He is the author of the books Down In Houston: Bayou City Blues and Texas Zydeco and has also contributed to books such as The Roots of Texas Music, The Handbook of Texas Music, The Da Capo Jazz and Blues Lover's Guide to the U.S., and The Encyclopedia Of The Blues.
