Anfitrite

Gothic / symphonic metal band from Venezuela. Founded in 2012 by Sting Weiss with the help of drummer Ana Alvarez, after dissolving his previous project Tatarimokke (gothic / doom metal). Following several lineup changes the band consolidates after the arrival of soprano singer Sara Rodríguez (after she left her previous group Fade Away) and Islander Boza, an experienced guitarist and great friend of Sting. In 2014 during the recording of their first EP, Ana Alvarez left the band for personal reasons and soon Emir Galindez is offered to cover the vacant drummer, later becoming the official drummer of the project. In October 2014, after months of recording, the band's debut EP "Origo" is released. Two years later, most of the musicians abandon the project due to personal and professional commitments, as well as musical differences, leaving only Sting as the only active member. Sting decides to transform the band into a studio project open to online collaborations with international musicians. Anfitrite is again a full band after Sting recruited bassist José Mendoza (in 2019), soprano singer Ysis Vivas (in 2019) as well as the American guitarist TJ Richardson (in 2018).
