Born October 4, 1905 Cincinnati, Ohio Died November 7, 1988 (aged 83) Cincinnati, Ohio. It is said that she accidentally invented the daytime TV talk show with The 50/50 Club. She began her career as a musician and continued to write music as a hobby after getting into television. She also was an author and media empire owner and philanthropist. The Ruth Lyons Christmas Fund began in 1939 and still provides Cincinnati-area hospitalized children with toys, Christmas decorations and hospital equipment.
