Sol Weiss

May 31st, 1916- June 10th, 2000 Recording Industry Executive Sol Stanley Weiss, former president and co-founder of Fantasy, died in San Rafael on June 10th, 2000. In 1949, Mr. Weiss, his brother Max and jazz artist Dave Brubeck founded Fantasy Records in San Francisco. He worked as a producer and recording engineer with such artists as Dave Brubeck, Cal Tjader, Gerry Mulligan, Bola Sete, Vince Guaraldi, Mongo Santamaria, Lenny Bruce, Allen Ginsberg and many others.
