General Jeff, a west coast hip-hop artist predominant in the late 80's and early 90's, is known for sporting his infamous Union Civil War militia cap. Jeff graduated from South Los Angeles' Crenshaw High School in the early 80's where several other west coast artists such as Ice-T and Darryl Strawberry enrolled earlier. Jeff soon came in touch with KDAY radio station personality Russ Parr (Bobby Jimmy) and enlisted alongside Arabian Prince as a "Critter" of Bobby Jimmy's parody hip-hop group. The General appeared on various Bobby Jimmy & The Critters' material between 1984-1986 before he was supposedly dropped from the group when egos clashed with Russ on leading the group. However General Jeff was not completely out of luck when he was granted a spot rapping and producing with Rodney O & Joe Cooley on two albums between 1990-1991. In 1995 Jeff briefly resurfaced appearing on the west coast posse cut "Keep Tha 'P' in It" on DJ Quik's Safe + Sound album.
