Секстет Георгия Гараняна

Georgiy Garanian started playing with Konstantin Baholdin, Alexei Zubov, and Alexander Goretkin in the 1950s. They had been members of the Central House of Artists Orchestra (Оркестр ЦДРИ, или Центрального дома работников искусств) directed by Yuri Saulsky, and won silver medals at the international jazz competition at the 6th World Festival of Youth and Students in 1957. After that, Garanian, Zubov and Baholdin became leading members of the Oleg Lundstrem Orchestra. For the "Jazz-65" festival in Moscow, musicians invited Victor Prudovsky Trio and played together as the Georgiy Garanian Sextet.
