Dick Gifford

Barbershop bass vocalist. Born on September 6, 1925 in Roswell, New Mexico. Dick went on to achieve great accomplishments as a barbershop bass singer. In 1954, Dick joined the Four Hearsemen as their new bass and earned a second place silver medal in the SPEBSQSA International convention that year as well as the South Western District Championship. In 1955, he earned his gold medal with the Hearsmen. In 1959, he won his second SWD championship as the bass of the Pitch Pirates. Dick was an acomplished radio announcer for KTVT-TV in Fort Worth, TX. He sang jingles on radio shows for many years. Dick passed away on May 11, 2013 at the age of 87.
