Philip-Dimitri Galás

(b. 21 Jul 1954, d. 12 Aug 1986) A playwright, director, actor, performer and businessman, brother of Diamanda Galás. He was known for his "AvantVaudeville" style which anticipated a trend toward a new style in performance art and theatre. Galás wrote and performed actively in the U.S. and abroad from 1971 to 1986. His plays and avante-vaudevilles include Baby Redboots’ Revenge, Performance Hell and Mona Rogers In Person. Philip-Dimitri Galás died of AIDS in 1986,
