Об исполнителе:
Sensational combo formed in 2005 by members of the most important funk, reggae and soul bands from the city of Barcelona. Los Fulanos are a band devoted to the hot rhythms of Latin Soul and Boogaloo, bringing back the fantastic music style which was born in 60's New York with the fusion of latin and soul rhythms. Their debut came in 2006 with a four track EP called "Arqueologia" which included a stunning cover version of the boogaloo anthem 'I Like It Like That' (made famous by the bandleader and pianist Pete Rodriguez). In 2007 they appeared on the compilation "Achilifunk" where they backed Peret (the King of Gipsy Rhumba) recording a fantastic version of Cheo Feliciano's all-time classic salsa song 'El Ratón'. It was 2008 when they became the backing band of the King of Latin Soul (Joe Bataan). With him, they released a hard-core Latin Soul album ("King of Latin Soul") for the Spanish label VampiSoul, where Mr. New York revisited and revamped some of his most beloved anthems, as well as some more obscure numbers. This was followed by a live tour all over Europe. Los Fulanos had already published several 7" for VampiSoul with covers of Latin-Soul classics by Ray Barretto, Hector Rivera, Bobby Valentin or Pride, and a groovy and latinized recreation of Prince's 'Kiss'. In 2009 they took part on the "Achilifunk" album's sequel ("Más Achilifunk"), this time recording with another living legend of the Gipsy Rhumba style (Chacho). The band decided to move forward in 2012 by recording their own songs. They released their first full-length for Lovemonk called “Si Esto Se Acaba Que Siga El Boogaloo". On this new record, they broaden their musical horizon by mixing boogaloo with sweet funk, disco and cuban rythms (including a super groovy rendition of New Order's Blue Monday). Following that, they released a five track EP for Lovemonk ("Discoteque") which included a mix of tracks which were not included on the LP plus remixes by Sabo and Oneman. After a decade of cutting their teeth on the small but very lively Spanish Latin funk and soul scene, where they gained a reputation for their priceless live shows, they decided to capture their legendary live performances on a live album recorded on December 2014 in Barcelona's famed Jamboree Jazz Club. The LP ("Live at Jamboree") was published in 2016 by the label Satélite K.
